“Helter Skelter” - Donald J. Trump is the Media Lovechild of Fox News and Charles Manson

There’s an image to start your week, Charles Manson humping Fox News.

In the off chance you missed it we are all in The Family now.  As of this writing 38% of Americans approve of Trump’s presidency. Ponder that for a second. Yes, upwards of 55% disapprove but roughly 4 in 10 still support a criminal psychopath as our Commander in Chief. No doubt that level of support is higher in Alabama given that the state GOP and evangelicals have thrown their support behind Roy Moore, a Christian Rapist and Pedophile, for the US Senate seat left open by Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III. It doesn’t get more naked than that does it?

Charles Manson leaves behind an apocalyptic cult led by another deeply damaged but selectively charismatic charlatan. Manson and The Family lived at Spahn Ranch, a movie set, while Trump and his supporters live in a world constructed by Rupert Murdoch and a cast of airbrushed pinups. Manson, like The Donald, learned to manipulate using the formulas in Dale Carnegie’s, “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. Manson found hints and clues in lyrics from The Beatles, the writings of Robert Heinlein, and filtered them through the acid haze of 1960’s Haight Ashbury. Trump, our Carnival Barker in Chief gets his marching orders from the Glass Teat while Paul “Squeaky” Ryan and Mitch “Tex” McConnell do the heavy lifting of deconstructing the state for the benefit of their patrons.

Hester Skelter indeed.
